While the orbiter successfully continues to study the Moon from its orbit, the lander lost communication during its descent, resulting in the rover being unable to deploy on the lunar surface as intended. Nevertheless, the orbiter component continues to send valuable data back to Earth.

Chandrayaan-3 (2023):
Chandrayaan-3, as it follows the nomenclature and objectives of its predecessors, is another lunar exploration mission by ISRO. Given the advancements in technology and the experiences gained from Chandrayaan-1 and Chandrayaan-2, Chandrayaan-3 is potentially focus on achieving a successful soft landing and deploying a rover on the lunar surface.
