Review of web series Sacred Games Season 1

"Sacred Games" is a popular Indian web television series based on the critically acclaimed novel of the same name by Vikram Chandra. The first season of the show premiered on Netflix in 2018 and consists of eight episodes. 

 The show is set in Mumbai and follows the intertwined lives of two men: Sartaj Singh, a jaded police officer who is struggling with his personal demons, and Ganesh Gaitonde, a notorious gangster who sees himself as a messiah of the poor and downtrodden. As the story unfolds, Sartaj receives a cryptic phone call from Gaitonde, who claims to know the truth about Mumbai's impending doom. Sartaj is drawn into a dangerous cat-and-mouse game with Gaitonde as he tries to uncover the truth behind the gangster's claims and prevent a catastrophe from befalling the city. 

 The first season of "Sacred Games" is known for its gripping storytelling, complex characters, and exploration of themes such as corruption, religion, and identity. The show has been praised for its production values and performances by its lead actors, Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, among others. 

 The star cast of "Sacred Games" Season 1 includes:

• Luke Kenny as Malcolm Murad, a drug lord 
• Girish Kulkarni as Bipin Bhosale, a corrupt politician 
• Anupriya Goenka as Megha Singh, Sartaj's wife 

These are some of the main actors in the show, but there are several other talented actors who appear in smaller roles as well. 

 My review: Although there are many popular and talented actors playing their roles perfectly in this web series, I found myself getting bored after watching a few episodes. I persevered and watched all the episodes solely to write this review, but unfortunately, I struggled to fully comprehend the story. Unlike other web series that explore complex relationships between religion, religious leaders, politics, gangsters, and Bollywood, this series lacked emotion, comedy, and the gripping nature of a thrilling drama. Based on my viewing experience, I would rate this web series 2 out of 5. Even if invited to watch it again with friends, I would decline. Additionally, due to the many sex scenes and vulgar language, I would not watch this show with family.
