iPSC technology or induced pluripotent stem cell technology is currently considered most advanced technology in the field of cell therapy & regenerative medicine field. The treatments of cell therapy & regenerative medicine achieve to save lives of millions of patients, therefore, iPSC technology is very impactful on society of all over the world 🌎🌍. At present there is no replacement of this technology.
Japan is always poineer for technology developments which are very uniques, have not replacements for many years because of their impacts on investigation approaches, thus, on society for curing the patien. iPSC or iPS cell technology is one of them which has changed completely a general perception that stem cells have no replacement. Few years ago, scientists are considering stem cell research is at top in cell therapy & regenerative medicine field domain but now it is iPSC. Funding agencies keep in priority to finance proposals of personalized medicine & iPSC support to fulfill this criteria.
Who has developed iPSC technology? A Japanese 🍙🍡 research group has reported first time iPSC technology. The research group achieved to dedifferentiate the🐁🐀 mouse fibroblast, in 2007, the human fibroblast, in 2008, to stem cells. This is dedifferentiatation of somatic cells to stem cells. From decades stem cells are differentiated to somatic cells. Several niches of stem cells in human body have been already discovered. Bone marrow stem cells is widely used in all over the world 🌎🌍 for clinical transplantation.
Millions of patients have received benefits of bone marrow transplantation. But the surgical intervention is much easy for removing a small portion of patient skin than bone morrow. Of course, the patient is less afraid from surgery due to already having the knowledge that a small skin wound heals in 1-2 days. But, in case of bone 🦴 morrow, the patient will ask several questions because patients don't have enough informations.
