10 Real Steps To Start An Online Business
I am thinking, like you, from a long time regarding what to do to start a business online & this business I can manage from my home & other employees can also manage from their homes, thus I will be able to save money which I need for paying a rent for an office.
Now, after Covid pandemic, work from home become very popular.

Many of us have live with this aspiration day and night that one day we will start & establish a business that will be totally online & we will be our own boss.
I can say them only "Best of Luck'.
In fact we can not avoid the reality.
One side is dreaming and another side to recognize the reality.
I know many people have done sort courses of data filling, website development etc on reading many offers on internet.
But we come to know reality of those offers when we apply to get contracts of those offers as freelancer and we don't get any.
After few weeks of fights & fail to get at least one contract, we think it is time start an online business. But it is not easy as it seems.
Let's discuss about what we have to do to start.

1st step of online business
You must have patience.
Without patience you become fail. Because starting & establishing a business, free of cost, with an online platform from beginning is a long process of learning & skill implementation, thus you will succeed.
Of course, if you have money, you can invest in hiring technically skilled person, but there is no guarantee that your idea of business will work, i.e. loss of your investment and time used.

2nd step of online business
You have to do a promise from yourself that you don't give up in mid way to your endeavors.
You need to be very strict with your decision.
I know many people including your friends and family will say you "a crazy person".
But, remember, same people will try to justify their contributions en your endeavors when you succeed in business.
So you don't have to get upset, & be strict & with full confidence to achieve the goals which you setup for business.
3rd step of online business
You have to hear suggestions of everyone but implement any of them using your own wisdom.
Working with a team always bring in your attention to those points which are vulnerable for achieving a goal and success.
You may feel you are secure at every angle of your business, but other people may see those angles from different point of view, and may be, point of view of advantage and disadvantages for clients or such offers are already available in market, then why does a client choose your offer.
Team work is always at top in business success.
4th step of online business
You have to think & discuss with others deeply to identify exactly what you can offer to your clients.
Of course, your offer must be completely unique.
There shouldn't be any competitor in the market with offers as you have.
You may think it's creziness to find unique offer because there are already billions of offers on internet & it is very tough to find one unique offer.
Let's talk regarding it.
One small vegetable seller of a small village of Chhattisgarh of India become a popular person in a very short period because there is no information how does this vegetables buy & sell business work at local level.
People know it?
Yes, they know it.
But they buy vegetables at higher prices from a shop located at 10 steps away from home.

An Amazon employee has been fired from the job due to economic crisis in Covid pandemic period.
The employee has gathered few people, who are in same situation, to work in collaboration, developed a mobile app for supply of groceries & tie ups with few local big retailers.
Now all these workers do visit door by door in their own localities to convincing people to do order via mobile app with or without payments & they themselves do delivery of groceries.
They succeed to develop a good public relations & establishing a supply chain of groceries at lower prices from the market price.
Involvements of only locals support job creations for local people, this makes this business idea more unique & popular.
Hopefully you understand what type of offers would be suitable for beginning.
I have my own idea.
Labour market is a very big market in India.
Many of them work on daily basis. Many labours are sitting close to my house & looking for if anyone can hire any of them.
I consider that they lack an online platform where they can register & offer the services based on their skills.
People, who are searching labour for one or few days work, such online platform makes them easy to select & hire someone from their own locality. It's same like Uber or Bla Bla Car has online platform.

5th step of online business
To know the market demand of your unique idea needs a survey at local or broad level.
You need to know if you can find clients for your idea of services and offers.
You have a very unique idea of an offer but noone is interested in that offer because it is not a priority need of people, as a consequence your idea ends up at last a fail idea.
You must have to find an unique idea which has a heavy demand.
I know it's not easy to find one. But, I have already given you few examples in previous paragraphs. Nothing is impossible 😂.
I remember that when one of my family members is interested to establish an business of incense sticks of good smelling, the person performed survey in many markets of different province to know only demands, supply chain, raw materials etc.
Of course, a business of incense sticks is not a unique business.
There are many online and offline suppliers & sellers.

6th step of online business
Online business needs people engagements.
As many as people are engaged on your online platform of business, and the platform are able to retain them & bring their contributions, your business will grow and become more estable.
Because many of them become permanent clients of online platform of your business.
For example, I can offer you to perform few purchases of using referral links available on our Best Deal or Our Collections webpages, inform me what you have purchased, and if I am receiving any commission on your purchase, 50% of that recieved commission is yours.
Of course, this way you purchase a product at a low price than that is written on a referral website. Read a following article which I wrote regarding this offer.
This is an example how to bring people engagements on your online platform of business.
The examples which I described privously also follow the rule of people engagements.
The different retailers send everyday the informations to business owners the price of the product purchase in bulk amount, suppose, 1 ton of sugar price or 200 kg rice price.
The business owners show those prices on online platform & purchasers make orders of purchase.
If 100 purchasers make order of buying 1 kg sugar for each one, business owner has to 100 kg (1 kg x 100 = 100 kg) from retailers at retail price & do supply door to door or provide options of a spot to collect at specific time and date your shopping materials.
Sometimes the purchasers make a list of groceries to purchase on the online platform.
The online platform retain overall the engagement of retailers, purchasers & business owners to make a price at low level than that is available at local market.
People engagements is crucial for success of any online business.
7th step of online business
A good planification is very important for succefully executing an idea.
You have a good and unique idea for starting an online business but you fail to make a planning good enough for successfully execution step by step from base line to last line which is your clients.
It needs to look what you need to implement at each step of your plan.
If a step needs flexibility, you must have to implement a flexibility at that step.
Now how do you decide that a step needs flexibility or not?
You need suggestions of your team at beginning, but, of course, it becomes very easy to identify the business steps which need flexibility with the growth 📈 of business.
In any case, you have to be ready for implementation of flexibility for business growth.

8th step of online business
You now need a good online platform where you can execute your plans.
If you want to invest money, you can hire an IT company to develop such platform.
Of course, you become dependent on them and you may have to spend enough money.
If you don't have experience in online business, I recommend you to avoid to do investment.
Best is to associate yourself with any other platform to execute your plans.
Wife of one of our known person does selling of women clothing from home but at beginning she has registered her business on an online platform.
She buy tons of women clothings, take pictures of those clothes and update her online store with those pictures, and when she recieve purchase orders, she pack the products and send to clients.
Nevertheless, at one step of business growth she decide to open own online platform because of gaining & retaining regular customers who are in touch with her for products purchases over phone or by emails.
She reaches at a planned business step where she can hire a website & software developer.
9th step of online business
I hope you heard regarding ease of business. As much as simple you make the procedures for clients to make a purchase, that will be in favor of your business.
Your offers must have varieties and you must be available to clients at anytime.
Billions of offers & venders are on different online platforms selling varieties of products, so it is better to avoid to focus blindly on online clients.
It could be good to attract first to your locals towards your online platform by visiting door to door.
Suppose, you have visited 100 houses in your local and 10 of them have decided to register on your online platform & do purchase.
If you succeed to give good impression of your business operation i.e. delivery to client of a purchased product at low price from market price in a very short period, then it is sure that client will again do a purchase, even they will recommend others to do purchase if you convince them to reduce the price more.
Of course, they are from your locality, you can do direct talk with them.
However, this is not any new idea because I know one of my friends do such business for a company implementing the business idea at local level.
This big multinational company has own manufacturing plants in many countries & a big supply chains of products. My friend, besides own permanent job, does a tie up with the company to sell the product.
My friend does visit door to door & meetings with local people, and convincing them to purchase the products of the company.
The company has a local shop where everything is stored at retail price in bulk amounts.
On being convinced, people do online purchase & then they receive the product or they can go directly to shop to collect the product at same day when they do purchase.
My friend recieve a commission.
Now if the purchaser (1st row) convience another purchaser (2nd row) to purchase a product via online platform, my friend again recieves a small commission, nevertheless, 1st row will also recieve.
Thus, the business strategy is to create a chain of purchasers & everyone feels happy on receiving a small amount of commission.
If you succeed to make a big chain of purchasers, you start to earn enough money because down side purchasers are working to convince to attract new purchasers to add in the chain which you have started.

10th step of online business
Good marketing & good communication are backbone of any business whether it is online or offline.
You must have to invest enough your time in making strategies of marketing which you can implement at online and offline platform.
Marketing on the online platform means you can share information of your online business in social media & connect with your locals primerly, then slowely slowely elaborate your area of business connection.
In another side you have to work on your locals for offline marketing.
Of course, from beginning, you need to develop very good relationship with your locals because they are the first who may do purchase if you are able to convince them that your offer is the best one in market, cheap from market price, it is safe to do online purchase or provide options of cash on delivery, any other such as pay on instalment, and you are 24 hours ready to hear and solve the issues related to purchased product.
If you succeed to implement these 10 steps which I consider are real steps which one has to take to start an online business.
Of course, I cannot tell you which business is best one for starting online.
You can find several ideas from online teaching to third party product sell, but you must consider to where you will find first clients.
It is not easy to finding clients on internet.

Now you have to book a domain name & web hosting server which you need for launching your website & online platform.

Of course, you are a big business person and ready to invest millions of dollars in marketing of a product, it is much easier to find clients who do purchase of the product because you will invest a big amount of money in purchase of driving of all search engines traffic (i.e. all clients) to your online platform of the product so that those clients purchase your product.
