Why to eat Suran on the day of Deepawali
On the day of Deepawali, peoples eat suran that is veg but it can prepared to give a taste of non veg.
Suran is called jimikand OR kand. Nowadays, hybrid suran can be found in the market. Sometimes even indigenous suran is available in the market.
Every vegetable seller in the market, especially in North India, definitely keeps suran in shop 3-4 days before Diwali. Interesting point is the life of suran is also very long, so sellers or buyers can store it for very long time.
Suran is a vegetable that gives itchy senesation. Therefore, after eating, people definitely is used to ask that your throat is not being cut.
Suran is the only vegetable in which phosphorus is found in excessive quantity. Now even medical science has accepted that if we eat naural suran vegetable on this one day, then there is phosphorus in the body of a person for months. It is good for health.
It protects from serious diseases from piles to cancer.
It contains fiber, vitamin C, vitamin B6, vitamin B1 and folic acid. In addition, potassium, iron, magnesium and calcium are also found in it.
