Spanish is the official language of Latin American Countries, therefore, the academic experts coming from these countries have less hurdles than those coming from other countries.
In spanish education system, there are two parallel and seperate academic career lines: Teaching career line & Research career line.

Many become associate professor and full professor based on teaching activities with few contributions in research line.
Hence, teaching activities is above to research activities. So you have to be ready to face this issue. You need to give priority to teaching activities over research activities if you want to become professor in a spanish university.
Spanish education system does not count your work experience. For example; you work in an university for 10 or 20 years and performed teaching and scientific contributions, and it make you eligible for professorship.

In Spain you have to, time to time, apply to university, state or central agency for evaluating your profile and releasing certificates.
These certificates make you eligible to compete for job positions of professorship. Competing for assitant professorship, associate professorhip or full professorship depend on which type of certificate they have provided you after your profile evaluation.
Be ready to face this problem. Because it is not easy to obtain these certificates. In addition, you are from outside and you may need more certificates to justify your qualifications and achievements.
You are coming from non Latin American Countries, so all of your achievement certificates and degrees would be in your native language.

You can translate your degrees and certificates in English but in Spain, the official language is spanish.
You can show your certificates and degrees translated in spanish in Latin American Countries and Spain, but not in other country, if you are shifting to another country. You have to look and compare for payscale also in different countries. This is one more issue.
English is accepted in most of the countries, hence english translated certificates and degrees certainly will be in preference over spanish translation.
At international level, in most of the countries, the accepted categories are assitant, associate or full professor (American system) or lecturer, reader and full professsor (British system). But in Spain, there are many categories. Be ready to face this also.
